James Bond’s Iconic Submarine-Car Has Been Listed On eBay… For $1 Million

Two years ago, one of the most classic cars from the James Bond franchise went up for sale and almost caused a riot. The sexy vehicle in question was 007’s submersible Lotus Esprit, that appeared in the 1977 film “The Spy Who Loved Me”. As movie memorabilia goes, it doesn’t get much better than this. Originally found in a New York storage container, the epic movie motor was stuck under a pile of blankets. To add the sparkle of the story, the container was purchased by an unwitting Long Island building contractor for only $100 in 1989.

That $100 turned out to be a stunning investment, as the car went to auction and was sold for just shy of $1,000,000. Nice mark up if you can get it.

Well it seems like the legendary car is back on the market, with a listing appearing in Las Vegas, Nevada, with a list price of $1,000,000. One weird piece of accompanying information though, the listing fails to mention the car’s big money movie appearance with 007.

The question on all collector’s lips is of course, is the car a replica? Bond aficionados will hope not for sure.
